Who we are

Gilde Equity Management Benelux Partners BV (‘Gilde’) is a private equity company. In the context of our activities, we collect, hold, disclose and/or otherwise process personal data (‘data’). This Privacy Statement (‘Statement’) explains how we collect, process and use any personal data. We process your data in compliance with the AVG and the GDPR provisions.


What data is collected?

The data we collect will depend on the relation you have with us. In general it includes your name, postal address, e-mail address, phone and fax number, company name, company structure, job title and business affiliations. This might include your CV, details of your previous employment history and professional activities, information relating to your financial status and dealings, nationality information (including copies of identity documents, such as a passport), reference provided by third parties, and results of due diligence carried out.


How do we collect your data?

We collect data that you voluntarily provide to us, for example when (i) you communicate with us via e-mail or other channels, (ii) when you meet a Gilde representative (iii) when you sign up for an event or ask us to send you newsletters or other (non-marketing) materials and/or (iv) when you apply for a job or if you are involved in a transaction that Gilde considers. In some cases your data has been supplemented by information retrieved from other sources, including searches via publically available search engines, sector-specific newsletters, social media and your employer's website or is your data (confidentially) provided to us by bona fide third parties in relation to our business activities.

If you visit our offices note that we make use of CCTV (Closed Camera Television) for security reasons. This means that you may appear on our camera footage.


How do we use your data?

We use the data we collect for e.g. to contact you, for assessing potential transactions and maintaining records of investments, to comply with legal obligations, recruitment and communication purposes.

In accordance with GDPR, our legal basis for collecting and storing personal information about you is that such processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in running and operating our business and ensuring effective communications..


With whom do we share your data?

In the context of the purposes mentioned above, we may share your data with third parties, such as parties that provides (CRM) services for Gilde and professional advisors and business partners such as (co)investors and debt financiers.

We do not make your data available to any third party for commercial purposes.


How long do we keep your data?

The period for which Gilde will retain personal information will vary depending on the purposes that it was collected for, as well as the requirements of any applicable law or regulation.


Data Security

Gilde has implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to help protect your data against loss and to safeguard against access by unauthorized persons. We ask the same from our service providers and we will ensure that contractual safeguards are implemented to ensure the protection of your Personal Data when disclosing your Personal Data to a third party. For example, we will enter into data processing agreements with relevant parties.

The law states that we can store cookies on your device if they are strictly necessary for the operation of this site. For all other types of cookies we need your permission.

We only use cookies to analyse our traffic.

Your Rights

You have the right to know what data we process about you and you may request a copy. You are also entitled to have incorrect data about you corrected and you may in some cases ask us to delete your data. You can also object to certain data about you being processed and request that processing of your data be limited. You also have the right to receive your data in a machine-readable format and have the data transferred to another party responsible for data processing. Updates Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement was last updated in September 2018. We reserve the right to update and change this Statement from time to time in order to reflect any changes to the way in which we process your personal data or changing legal requirements. In case of any such changes, we will post the changed Privacy Statement on our website. The changes will take effect as soon as they are posted on this website.
